Default Export brace installation

I have read most of the articles on this and I am currently in the process of installing my new 1 piece brace. My question is do I completely remove the old brace? Where the old braces were welded to the shock towers do I grind this off or leave it in place? Thanks in advace follks.

Hello. You can remove the original cowl braces if you want to, but it really doesn't make any sense to do that. With the export brace on top of the cowl lip and the original braces underneath it, sandwiching the cowl lip between them, that stiffens up the car far, far better than either one by themselves. Both is much better than either one.
