Default Help! 1967 Mustang interior color

I have a 67 mustang which VIN# is 7T01C274627 and data plate codes are 65A T 2D 26F 32 0 W. So it is candyapple red with red bucket seats. I just bought new carpet, headliner, kickpanels and door panels from Virginia Classic Mustangs. Carpets color is maroon, because that is suppose to be 66-68 red. Kick panels color is 67 red, door panels color is also red and headliner color is dark-red (maroon).

The problem is that headliner that I bought is much darker than the one that is currently in a car as you can see from the picture

I don't know if the current headliner and sun visor pads have been changed, because mirror seems to be same darker than headliner and sun visor pads and pretty much same color as new headliner
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a..._05/mirror.jpg

New carpet seems to be almost same color as the carpet that was previously in car but it is much darker than door panels and upholsterys. And I don't know if the current carpet is original or even right color. http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a..._05/carpet.jpg

New kickpanels are also darker than the old ones.

The old kick panels were probably originals since they are made by Fomoco and the part number is
C7ZB-6502344-AW
C7WB-6502344-BW

Does anyone have any pictures of original 67 red interior so that I could see what it should look like. Should the kickpanels be same color shade as the front door and should the door panels and upholstery be lighter shade. Now I think that the new kickpanels (and perhaps the carpet also?) are to dark and there is a clear shade difference between kickpanel and front door. And if the front door should be darker then also the quarter panels should be darker
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...arterpanel.jpg

Should the headliner be darker (maroon, which is same shade as mirror) and if it should be then should the quarter panels and doors (metal parts of doors not door panels) be same shade as headliner or should they be lighter? Should the carpet actually be so dark (maroon) or should it be lighter? Virginia Classic Mustang is selling only maroon (red 66-68) carpets (manufactured by ACC), but for example John's Mustang seem to be selling both red and maroon carpets for 65-68 models.

So please, someone who knows about the interior shades of red (2D) trim on 67, help me!

Here you can find some pictures of the interior tka_05 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I know, many faint questions, but I would really appreciate any help.

Hi Red, I have a '67 Coupe with candyapple ext./red interior also but I'm traveling for work so i won't be able to send pics until Fri. if no one answers before then. Don't have my VIN with me but sounds like we have the same colors, i was worried about what colors, red, maroon, to get also. I do believe mines all original carpet/panels/seats/headliner though.

Ok, finally got back home, here's a few i took 6 mos. ago when I bought the car, if you need more or more specific (carpet w/kick panel, seat belts, door, etc.) let me know. As you can see, mines a deluxe interior though.

Thanks for the photos. Your car looks awesome, hopefully some day mine will look as good as yours. Could you take one more picture of kickpanels and doors, thanks.
It seems that your headliner is lighter shade of red than the new headliner that I bought so it's probably same shade as my current headliner.
Would you say that your headliner shade is more closer to the shade of your upholstery than the shade of your dash pad?
btw. is your mirror same shade than sun visor pads and headliner?

I think I might have to return my headliner and kickpanels to virginia mustangs and perhaps the carpet also...

I think what happens is that the color fades dramatically over the life of the car. I had the same problem. My headliner was a really light blue, as are my visors. My new one is a straight-up sky blue as opposed to near-horizon sky blue, if you catch my drift.

Red, from memory the headliner is the same shade as the dash pad, looks maroon to me, much darker than the metal dash, carpet, seats (faded) but I think it's all original. I think the door panels are the darker maroon red also.

The original kick panels were cracked so I ordered new ones from NPD, but you've caught me 300 mi. from home for work again, I'll have to get pics this weekend, cars up in the air for new suspension anyway. I'll try to remember to put the kick panels next to each other old/new to get a color comparison.

Seats, carpet, kickpanels, metal dash, metal door parts all look just 'red' to me. Headliner, sunvisors, door skins, rear package tray look maroon to me, but then again I'm color blind...
I think the mirror surround is black?
I was trying to find paint to match the package tray as I've replaced the crumbling original with new thicker fiber board and want to paint it, I'll be covering it anyway so I guess the paint match won't be that important. I got some interior red from NPD but haven't tested the color yet.
Thanks for the compliments, of course I still think it looks rough, needs new dash pad, carpet, etc. and I've got exterior rust arond the fender wells to tackle next with a repaint of Candy Apple red of course....never ends.
