I just had a real quick question. I have a 1966 mustang and was just wondering if the S post on the solenoid is supposed to be ground?

Nope. It goes through the neutral safety switch (if equipped) and then on to the ign. switch. Check out this diagram:

Not if the S post goes to a ground, but if I check the continuity of the S post to a ground: should it have continuity? My S post has continuity to a ground.

S is for the wire from the ignition switch, it should be open when in key is in normal position and should have 12 volts when the key is turned to start. If you're showing continuity to ground you may have a short somewhere.

You will read continuity to ground through the "S" terminal. You are reading continuity through the coiled wire of the solenoid's electromagnet which has to terminate to ground, (Solenoid Mounting Bracket), to function. The source voltage for the solenoid to actuate is through the "S" terminal.
