Default my carb is spitting out fuel

I have a 1966 mustang 289 with a 4 barrel 4150 holley carb. When I try to start my car fuel is pumped through the straw like medal stick, I'm not sure of its proper name. Not the one on the choke side but the other. What is wrong? As the starter turns and the fuel pump pumps it comes out, kid of a lot. Please help

sounds like you have a piece of trash under the needle valve (float) ...try to litely tap on side of the bowl with a screwdriver handle all the way around the carb, matter in fact then try to crank it.it might help or might not

I rebuilt my carb, by myself for the first time so I might not have placed everything back with the correct measurements. Is there something I can adjust. I didn't measure the needle for the float. Is that the problem? How do I fix this?

Not positive on your model holley but my needle/seat just dropped in, no adjustment except for bending the 'tong' that presses on the needle.
Sounds like your float is adjusted too high, reread the instructions that came with the carb rebuild kit on how to adjust/check it. If the float is too high the bowl fills up until it squirts out of that tube, if it's too low the car stumbles on excelleration as there's not enough fuel available.
I switched to a carb with float bowl sight glasses, very easy to adjust now, you may see if these are available (Summit or speed shop near you) for your model of holley.
This needs to be corrected before you have a fire on your hands.
Try to always mention any recent changes you have made like rebuilding the carb recently in your first post, it makes a big difference for the relplies to help you.
