Default I have a 1967 mustang that needs a stereo system. what do you perfer?

After rebuilding my 67 i ran out of money to put a stereo system in it. now i have the money and i am looking for one to put in, I was thinking about just doing without a woofer. i don't want to go out and get kick panels to fit speakers in. what is the best way to get some good sound?

If your car is authentic, go with something possible for that era.
If it's not, go with whatever you want.

my car is not authentic at all, I started from a rust bucket. the car is built how I wanted it so i probably am going to go for an after market system. I was just wondering if I just put the 2 speakers, will it be good enough.

If its not authentic then id definitely make it your own with the sound system too. Put a really nice sound system. If you want woofers, put those in too.

Good sound deading will help a lot.For a head unit cut your bezel or buy a din size one from any of the mustang part house and pick out a din size head unit for it, Speakers are up to you theres a lot out there to pick from. You could get a console or make one and mount the speakers in that.

You could put a couple of speakers in your package tray and a replacement speaker in your dash between your defrost vents. But, I have a question about subwoofer placement. I've got an enclosure with dual 10" subs, but it takes up a lot of trunk space. Won't fit over the axle hump and underneath the package tray. Any suggestions?

you could put 2 6x9s on the rear deck....thats what i usually see with the older mustangs...well older vehicles in general. with 2 6x9s and a good 2 channel amp and some sound deadening, itll sound great. you can cut out the dash to fit a din sized cd player in there...it fits...just take your time cutting.

6x9s in rear 6.5s in front NOT A PIONEER HEAD UNIT slap some fosgate woofers in back, ran by a 4-channel amp...use other two channels to power 6x9s and then top it off with some tweeters in front. make sure you get a good headunit with a big output!

whats wrong with pioneer head units? i like the pioneer headunits, not their speakers though. in my eclipse i have some polk "momo" audio 6x9's powered by a smaller fosgate 2 channel amp and they sound amazing! very clear. but what you really want are some nice component front speakers, maybe a 6.5" they can sound really nice and the component speakers really make a difference.

My pioneer head unit has been treating me well since '04. Love the huge LCD screen and controls. More than enough power for the speakers. I kinda went cheap on the subwoofers and amp, though. I used refurbished Sony Xplods, and they sound pretty good. Think I need new midrange speakers, though.
