Default Looking for info on building small block fords.

I am looking for any knowledge base, whether in print or internet, on building small block ford engines. What I am looking for in particular is information on pistons and cyl heads in relation to compression ratio, and what mods can be done to acheive a particular ratio. Also how milling the deck surface changes valvetrain geometry.

I would also like to find general guidelines for porting sbf heads, especially where the casting may be thin, or has ample thickness.

Basically any information would be helpful. I bought a couple of books off of Amazon today. Other than that, I found some good info on Car Craft's tech archive.
Thanks for the help,
Mike

Here's a great book to get started with. Good detail and great for a beginner.

Hey Dirt,
Good choices. Those are the two books I bought. They appeared to have the best content based on the reviews.
Thanks,
Mike
