Question 1968 Fastback Mustang Power Steering?

Hi,
I got a "68 fastback. Both the steering sector and the slave cylinder have alot of play in them. Should I replace them with new or rebuilt? The car is a good solid car that I normally drive about 2,500 miles a year. I discovered this a week ago, and I have already learned alot from it. Thanks in advance!

Hello. Personally, I prefer brand new over rebuilt. Brand new costs more, but, if that isn't really an issue, new is always the way to go. The steering gear box is something that can be rebuilt successfully, though, without a whole lot of trouble.

I would go with new cylinder. Around 120.00. And also a new box for 420.00. Why go cheap and rebuilt when this is one of the most important parts of car......steering.
