Well thats a start but how about the heat it creates in the alternators windings or the ratings of the diodes? If these get hot the chances for failure are higher. The alternators rating is its maximum output and not its output at idle. You may want to carry a spare alternator if you plan on any long trips and plan to use the stereo.

Actually, they carry a 60-watt Jensen shaft-type AM/FM Cassette, that is an easy fit, with NO cutting, that's what's going in my T-bird.

Matt, the 1965-66 Mustang has real funky knob locations, offset to the top, not in the center like your bird
