Can't tell from the small pic, but the Red's for 65 were:

J Ragoon Red
T Candyapple Red (after 2/65)
3 Poppy Red. Although I doubt it is Poppy, because Poppy is more like an Orange. Same as Calypso Coral for 1970.

Were you able to find a buck tag or build sheet for your car?

Do you know what the original color of the car was?

Default Colour Code 65

Thanks guys for your help
I have the papers which tell me a few things but no colour info. The car has been fully resprayed but it would appear the original colour was pretty much the same colour

If your car has the original data plate on the driver's door, then you can find the original color there. Get the Paint Code off the plate--that's your original color.

Kevin Marti only has info on '67 and up cars, Stang65's car is a '65. The factory info on '65 / '66 cars is gone forever.

Without a build sheet, window sticker, body buck tag, or original purchase paperwork, there's no way to be sure the car came originally equipped as it is now. There are clues, but most of the factory upgrades are bolt on. The VIN gives the engine code so we would know if it was originaaly a 6 cyl car, it didn't have a 9 inch taction lock rearend for example.
