Question Mustang 4-speed transmission identification

Is there a way to figure out what transmission I'm looking at, if all I have is a number off of the main case and the tailshaft housing? I've searched a few transmission identification sites, but haven't seen numbers close to what I have, which is (main case): C-96561H and for the tailshaft housing: C-96707. Can someone point me to a site that might identity these numbers? Thanks in advance for any help!

posting a picture of it might help. if it has a cover on the top and the linkage attaches to the side and it came out of a v-8 vehicle it is probably a top-loader. if it came out of a 6 cylinder equipped vehicle it is likely a dagenham transmission. pictures would help.
