Default 1972 Mustang Convertible rear power window motor removal

1972 Mustang Convertible rear power window motor removal

I can not figure out how to get the rear window motor out of the quarter panel. I have it loose, but the access hole is too small to slip the motor out.

Has anyone ever removed a rear window motor?

Yes it is tight but it can be manuvered out. the regulator must be loosened and the glass taken out first as well.
be careful not to bend or force the motor into a twist or bend, teh motor is a Pancake armautre over Pemanent magnets and if you twist the motor the armature will be ruined. it is awnome for the timeperiod butit looks lik a copper clad CD.

Default Thanks for the advice

You are right! Even though the window motor is near the access hole, you have to remove everything else before you have enough room to slip the motor and arms out.

You have to take the glass out, then remove the window slide tracks. All this is behind the window motor. But it has to come out or you can not get the motor out.

Thanks for your input. I though I might have to start cutting metal
