Default Restoration quarter panel question

I am doing my first restoration of my 67 coupe. Both quarter panels need to be replaced asap. But when i look for some to buy i get the option for full, skin and 80 percent. What is the difference between whats on the full and the skin. And what is the missing 20 percent!? haha

The skins are basically a big patch, while the full quarter panels are a complete panel from the door wrap-a-round tabs, to the tabs that wrap around the tail light panel. I believe it also has a small tab where the lip of the body line and roof go together.

I can't speak for all quarter skins on the market, but the one I put in my '66 GT coupe did have the quarter/taillight panel wraparound tabs.

Given the choice, I would definitely choose a skin again over purchasing a full quarter. Unless you have damage that requires you to replace up into the roof area, you really don't need a full quarter.

Look at npd they show all the quarters from full to the lower half patches which is where most rust happens.Yes id use a patch full quarter id only use if it was wrecked or the whole thing was junk.Where is your rust problems at and any pictures of the rust.

The full Quarter goes up the side post. An 80 is just under the top body line, mainly used for lower damage.

My 67 quarter panels are shot to. The rust is mainly around the bottom part, around the wheel wells, trunk drop offs, and i front of the rear tires. I think full quarter panels are my only route, the driver side rotted at the door jamb. But i'm thinking of going with some 68 full quarter panels, because i don't like those fake scoops on the 67's.

ok thanks a lot guys. The rust is on the lower part and near the wheel wells. Also the previous owner tried fixing the dents and such on the quarter panels but in doing so he completely destroyed them, past fixing
