Default 1967 Mustang Le mans (Rally) stripes. Help!!!

I have a 1967 mustang. I'm getting ready to paint the car and decided I would like to have rally stripes. I have heard you can buy vynil stripes, but I don't know where to get them from, if they have them for my year, or if they are any good. I have also considered painting them on, but I don't know if striping measurement are the same for 1965-1967 mustangs. If anyone has any info regarding Vynil, or paniting Stripes on my 67 mustang I would I would like to hear it. Thanks

I'll check around a bit for you. Overall, vinyl's a good option: It's a lot cheaper, and changeable if you decide to change color down the line.

What color you looking at? I'm assuming you're looking at dual over body stripes. What width are you looking at? 9"? 10"? Check around for 3M vinyls. I have them on my car, and they came out great.

Thumbs up

you can get vinyls from national parts depot for $65 for a 67. You can also get stencils.

Yours did come out really nice. I wonder how well they hold up to weather. I would think they would get dirty and be hard to keep clean.
I am looking at White dual over body stripes. Are they difficult to install? Did they come pre-cut year specific, or was it a roll of material that you had to form. I am not sure as to what width to get, possibly 10" but I don't know. Any suggestions?

Thanks, it took a while to put em on! They're not really hard to keep clean. No harder than the rest of the car, just make sure if you wipe em down with a towel, use micro fiber. Other towels will scratch them.

They can come model specific, but you can also get them in rolls. They're not exactly hard to install, so much as time consuming. You really have to take your time if you want them to come out right. 10" would be a pretty good choice, they're beefy enough to be really noticed and look good. I'd just suggest get some 10" white stripes, and either get quotes from stripe installers, or make sure you have a lot of time to install them. Make sure you have a squeege to work out bubbles, and have a heat gun/blow dryer to help the stripes around curves. If you decide to install them yourself, let me know if you have any more questions.
