Default 1969 mustang engine start up problems

Hi guys

I have a 1969 mustang with a 302 in it. When I turn the ignition on nothing happens. Doesn't turn over or make any noise. There is power coming through the car however; headlights, console, and brake lights etc turn on fine.

There is no response from the starter motor, i've tried to isolate electrical faults with a volt-meter but can't really get anywhere. I was able to start the car up yesterday with a jumper pack on the battery, I've since replaced the battery. Now the car won't start with the new battery or with the jump pack.

Can anyone help with ideas about the alternator, starter motor, solenoids etc? I've only had the car week and getting frustrated!

Cheers guys

Check the s terminal on the selinoid, with key in start position it should read 12 volts. If you get 12 volts there, then suspect bad selinoid or starter,if not voltage there, then suspect bad ignition switch.Check fort voltage at ign. switch.
