66 mustang flywheel I purchased a 66 mustang, it had a 351 in it with the original bell housing, flywheel, and 3 speed transmission, the bellhousing had a ear broken that the starter mounted to. The flywheel got chewed up, the ring gear was replaced and a new bell housing was purchased bolted up fine, now the starter does not hit the flywheel. I know the best thing to do is to replaces the 157 tooth with a 164, but that is soooo much work, so i took the starter to a starter repair guy who says he can put a bigger gear in the starter. Will this work??? with the engine run ballanced with a 157 tooth like it would with a 164??? |
