Unhappy Superior Mustang Parts

I wish I had read this post weeks ago. Ordered parts from Superior Mustang Parts and have been waiting almost a month with no response to any emails or calls.

I've talked to quite a few people who have had problems form time-to-time with Mustangs Unlimited. I guess I'm no exception. For example, I spoke to one of their reps who stated that my order would take 3 days, then it shows up in 5. Then a supervisor denies that the sales rep said 3. Many reps have said they don't sell something, yet I can find it on the internet. Along with a host of other problems and inconsistencies. I'm going to steer clear of MU when I can help it and support some of the other vendors.

I continually hear great things about Virginia Classic Mustang, I'll have to give them a try.

I usually use Mustangs Unlimited, but I am going over to NPD, their shipping was cheaper and faster, the parts were cheaper, and one of my items was damaged, they said no problem you should get it in a couple days. With Mustangs Unlimited, everything was more expensive, shipping took longer, and when something was damaged or missing, it was a hastle to deal with.

1966 Mustang Sprint 200 "Oliver"... factory fog lamps, factory rally pac, off the road for restoration.

2005 Mustang 4.0 litre... Airaid CAI, Honeycomb taillamp panel, more mods to follow.

I have been a customer of CJ Pony Parts since 1995. Back in the day it was very common to get Creed (the C part of CJ) on the phone to take your order, answer questions and to provide assistance. Always have had great customer service and the website now makes ordering from 6,000 miles away very easy.

Turnaround time is pretty quick and for me, I have no reason to check any place else.

I bought doors, fenders, hood, trunk, quarters, valences, interior parts, etc from CJ's pony parts. Everything has arrived quickly, well packaged, undamaged, and the prices are excellent. The quality of the aftermarket parts is very good, although I'm sure all the vendors get them from the same place.

I am having very good luck with CJ Pony Parts all the way out to California. I will order parts on a Saturday or Sunday through their online service and have the parts within a week. Tried Sacramento Mustang and it took them a month to get my parts after I continued to call them for the parts.

I have done alot of comparison shopping. CJ offers the best prices, no question. Also, they have literally nut and bolt you can find, other parts houses do not have the selection that I see in the CJ catalog. (Yes, I do have all the catalogs, MU, NPD, Mustangs Plus, been on the Virginia Mustang website).

While I have read of their supposed bad customer service, my experience in ordering several thousand dollars of parts has been nothing but top notch. The people that answer the phone have been pleasant, heck, even offered to go measure parts in their warehouse for me so I was getting the right size, etc.

As for those who bash their customer service- what was your attitude when calling them? I find in life, the attitude one portrays is the attidude that is reflected back at you. Call with a negative attitude, of course your going to be unhappy. And, lets face it, with the Internet, who is going to go around and post their pleasant experiences? I am here to do that.

I have done the work for you, order from CJ, selection, price and discounts, hands down, they win.

Check out my restoration pics!

70Boss: i am with you Sac mustangs is a back order house. CJ's, MU, NPD.....all are awesome. with sac mustang i placed a large ordr with them, took two months to get in. one item they could not seem to get right so i canceled. six monts later i get a call "Your E-break part is in, could you come and pickit up". I hung up the phone in disgust......

Problem children would be Superior, Dallas mustang, mustang plus and sac mustang. I only had one shipping problem with MU but that was resolved quickly.

I've found NPD is good for price. Since I usually pick up parts I don't know much on their shipping timing.

My personal favorites are Mustang Parts: OEM, Performance & Accessories in Houston, TX and Mustangs Unlimited - The Premier Source for Mustang, Shelby and Cougar Parts and Accessories in Atlanta, GA for restoration parts.

I have bought all of my steering and suspension parts from Ford Mustang Auto Parts - OEM and quality reproduction parts. (used to be Canadian Mustang).

I absolutely love my new steering box and lowered suspension I got from American Pony. My car handles so good, my butt can't stay glued to the seats with the old lap-belt! I bought my body parts from John's Mustang when I was on leave in Houston and received a Japanese deck lid for my 68' Coupe that is built better than the original. All of my interior/trim/steering wheel/chrome/bumpers came from Mustangs Unlimited, and it's all good.

I've never had to return anything, so I can only tell you that is was a painless ordering process, but I never dealt with customer service after the order.

I have ordered from both Virginia Classic Mustang and Mustangs Unlimited. Generally get same or next day shipping from both -- and usually have my parts within 2 days -- ground service. Both offer extensive catalog and good quality. I just compare prices and features on what I need and pick the one that seems best based upon that. Only problem is -- it is addictive.

Best Mustang Parts Site

Anyone had any experience with www.restoremustangs.com in San Diego? Prices seem competitive. Any feedback?
