What is the proper Ford blue color for a 1969 Mach 1 428CJ engine. From what I have read most say it is the Dupli Color 224 or 1606. Every part I have it is a lighter shade then the 224 and the 1606 is definatily too dark. I have a few 428 CJ engines and every part seems to be a lighter shade. Of course it goes unknown if they were ever repainted. Hope someone has an old paint code or a brand that is closer then the two I have listed. Thanks

The correct color for the 428 Cobra Jet engine is "Ford Dark Corporate Blue"

Plasti-Kote #224 is the paint you want to use. People I've talked to about this same subject always recommend the Plasti-Kote 224 over the Duplicolor 224.

Yeah, better color quality.
