Default Leaking Head Gasket on a 1966 I6

Hey, I think my engine may have a problem, but I am not sure if it is dangerous or not. A guy looked at my engine at a cruise the other day and said I had a "weeping" head gasket. Is this a sign of something bad to come down the road, or is this just a sign that something needs adjusted? Thanks.

Well if it's leaking, it's unlikely to heal up.
You didn't say if it was oil or water, or how bad it was.
If it runs ok it may be worth checking the head bolts but if it's been on there a while it may be a wasted effort.
I wouldn't panic too much over a minor oil leak unless it's making a mess.

It is 2 little sort of dried up trails of oil on the drivers side of the engine.

Are you sure it's a head gasket or a valve cover gasket? The valve cover gasket is easy enough to cure.
Good luck,
Rich

I am sure it is the head gasket, because it is coming out from under the sparkplugs, not above the spark plugs.
