i recently went to a mechanic who told me that my mustang had a bunch of emissions junk in it that was unnecessary. can anyone tell me what that consists of so i can proceed to remove it. keep in mind that i am a novice and any advice in how to go about removing these parts, would be appreciated. i have a 289 engine, 1966.

I would be inclined to ask the mechanic what items were being refered to. I wouldn't expext to find much in the way of imission control on a 66.

Unless its sold in cali new 67 was the first year for smog pump.
