Default Wheres A Good Place To Mount The MSD Box?

Hey everybody, I just picked up a 6al and was wondering where everyone normally mounts there boxes. I have a 67 with a 289. I was thinking about just mounting it under the windshield fluid container. Any help and maybe some pics would be great. Thanks...

Mount it on the firewall or one of the inner fenders. I attached some pics.

I built a fender panel out of some sheet metal I bought at Lowes. This hides the Starter Solenoid. I removed the battery tray and bolted the new fender panel in this area after painting it the same color as the car. The MSD box now mounts on the new panel and the wiring is hidden inside between the new panel and the original fender well along with the positive battery cable I routed from the trunk. It works great and hides most of the wires. I included the best picture I have of the engine, but it doesn't show the MSD, just part of the panel. Unfortunetly, the car is in the transmission shop getting some warranty work done on it or I would have included a newer picture.

That's what I'd do, unless you wanted everyone to know that you've got an MSD box.

I mounted mine on the inner fender where the battery was originally mounted. On the 67 the radiator support on the passanger side has vertical cut outs which serve well to keep the MSD cool with incoming air. The high current electrical portion is easily tapped from the battery side of the starter solenoid. Its been in place for years and still works like a champ.

What kills them is heat and vibration, so don't forget to mount the rubber vibration damping feet onto the box.
