Good morning everyone. I have many questions but I will post them separate.
#1. If electronic ignition is added to a stock 289 2V with the stock distributor, is the vaccum advance still used? The reason I ask is I discovered a BB in my vaccum line at the distributor blocking it off.

I'm not sure, but either way you should probably get the BB out. I know I've seen some setups that take out the vacuum advance, but that wasn't with a stock distributor.

Yes, you should run vacuum advance on the street, it does wonders for low speed driveability and mileage. That bb was likely a misguided attempt to create a mechanical advance distributor like a race car uses!

Yes run the vac advance, the bb was probably installed because the vac advance on the old dist was bad and causing a vacuum leak
