Default value of a 1968 289 alternator?

Hi, i just replaced my original alternator with a more powerful alternator today. The original alternator worked good but i was just running to many amps in my car for that alternator. I was wondering how much the original alternator is worth. Cause the core charge at napa was $5.69, so i want to make sure im just not throwing money away considering im in high school and money is hard to come by. (haha)

Thank- you.

Post it on your local Craigslist for $20 or whatever you think you can get and see if there are any takers. Are you sure it's original? I can't imagine an alt. making it 40+yrs., the bearings and brushes would wear out before that.
