Default 1969 Mustang wire ripped from brake light connector. Best way to repair?

Hello.
I have a 1969 Mustang Fastback.
Recently my brake lights stopped functioning, and I discovered the problem is that one of the wires has ripped out of the connector that plugs in to the brake light switch.

What is the best way to repair this sort of problem? The wires were originally crimped into the connector, and I don't see any easy way of removing the crimped connection from the plastic harness. (Picture of connector is attached)

I was going to try my hand at a quick and dirty soldering job to solder the wire back to the connector, but wanted to check if there are any better options. The other possibility would be to find a replacement connector, but all I can find is the full wire harnesses.

What would you recommend?

yes they sell connectors that you can crimp on the wire first, there sometime called molex inserts. There commonly used on circuit board connectors. This might be a better way of fixing, but the right connector could be difficult to obtain, maybe only online. The quick fix if it works would be easier

I would either solder it or make a trip to the junk yard. There are tons of different cars that use the same switch. Just have a switch in your hand as you walk around and check the older Fords, Mercuries, and Lincolns. Then you can just splice it in place of the other one.

Thanks for the advice, guys.

I think I'll just cut the wires, pull the connector, solder (& maybe crimp) new wire on to the connector, then splice in the repaired connector to the existing wires.

It just doesn't seem worth the effort of hunting around junk yards.

Skatch, Hey don't cut it, it can be fixed really easy bud. look, turn the connector around and with you looking at it from the front turn the connector so the curved lips on the connector are pointed downward. take a small thin blade, paper clip, or mini allen wrench and put it between the top of the metal connection and the harness. there is a little prong that when you stick it in locks it in so it doesn't fall out, so just slide something flat and thin in there and pull it out the other side. thrust me it will work. radio shack and many companies around including ford will get you the replacement connector. Hope I caught you before you cut it. G
