1970 mustang coupe side scoops I have a 1970 coupe that when I bought it had shelby stlye side scoops on it, they are located about half way up the side directly below the rear windows. I dont like them, so I'm starting to get it ready to paint and removed them. I expected the hole that someone had drilled to attach them but wasn't expecting the shallow, approx .75" deep indention in the panel that it was covering. The indention is about 2" wide and 4" tall and is slightly curved. it also has 6 mounting holes for something in addition to the holes for the old scoops. I never seen anything on a coupe that fits there and have looked at every picture of a 70 coupe I can find and haven't seen anything that matches this on any coupe. This indention was obviously stamped into the panel and is not something done by an owner of the car. This quarterpanels on the car may have been replaced at some point as there is no rust in them. Any clue to what this is? |
