The problem that you will encounter will be that these aren't the most rigid cars ever built. There will be a lot more involved than merely dropping a gorilla of a motor into the car. That motor will tie the car in a knot unless you also add all sorts of stuff in the way of sub-frame connectors, traction bars, etc... Having horsepower doesn't mean a whole lot if the car just sits there and hops.

. I went through that little song and dance routine about 15 years ago when I shoe-horned a 427 SOHC motor into a 67 coupe. It took a bunch of modification of the engine bay to get it to fit in there, and it took a bunch of bracing and reinforcement to get the car to just launch instead of hop or go sideways on me. It was a hoot to drive, though, until my husband made me sell it.

Oh well. It was probably a good idea to get rid of it. It was a deathtrap.
