My 67 coupe is bare metal right now and the window trackes aren't in the door. I start fiberglass on the door panels tomorrow but I need to how deep I can go into the lower forward part of the door for the speaker pods.

If you have 5 minutes and a tape measure I'd be extremely grateful if you could tell me how much clearance I have between the inner sheet metal of the door and the window/window track around where the red box is in the attached image.

I no longer have the door latch located there, so no worries there. My only concern is how far I can recess the speaker into the door in that spot.

I measured to the right of the window crank on drivers door and got 6 1/4 inches. Hope This Helps

From the inner sheet metal to the glass, or to the back of the door? I need the measurement from the inner sheet metal to the glass so I know how deep the speaker can go. 6 1/4" sounds like the entire depth of the door...

Or does the window not come up that far because of the wing window?
