Default 1966 2+2 diff I.D.

Hi Folks,

I just picked up an 8 inch diff head from a friend and I am wondering what the ratio is, the numbers stamped on the crown wheel are:

C20W-4210-B-"C" ford 10x35

The ratio that i have at the moment is 2.75:1 and i want a 3.5:1, have i found it ?

Steve

So i am trying to answer my own question:

I spun the shaft end and got 3.5 turns of the end to one turn of the crown wheel, is it safe to assume that it is then 3.5:1?

count the teeth on the pinion gear and count the teeth on the ring gear and divide and that is your gear ratio

Thanks kenton 90,

Recently i had the core changed to LSD because the main pin in the existing set up lost its locating pin and drilled it's self a new slot, as well as some bearings by a local shop. Although i still seems to have backlash at low speeds when it changes gear?

I havn't pulled the old pumpkin with the doner parts to bits to count the teeth yet but i will get on with that now.

Thanks again

Steve

Hi,

Didn't have to pull it apart to count them, looks like the numbers say it all .... 10X35 = 10 on the little one and 35 on the big one.

I will atke it to the shop and see if the doner is ok.

Took it to the shop today, all is well with the doner and i am ready to swap it over, just gotta get the other one out (again).

I forgot to mention that i did count the teeth while it was still together ..... 35 & 10

I am in the middle of the upper control arm rebuild and re-location (shelby style) at the same time, not going to be much of a winter project, at this rate i will be finished before the end of next week .
