Default Spark plug gap with PerTronix Ignition

Hi, I just put a Pertronix Ignigtor and Flame Thrower coil on my 1965 Mustang, with a 200 L6. This smoothed out the idle, acceleration and pick up. This combination is supposed to allow a wider plug gap. Any idea how wide? I set it at 0.040 and it runs well.
Thanks.

Don't use any more gap than you have to in order to get a smooth idle. A wider gap increases voltage required to fire the plug but burns up the insulation in the wires, causes cross fire problems and reduces the amperage available at the plugs (thats what ignites the fuel air mixture).

To all who responded to my question.
Thanks for your help. I will just stay with the 0.040. I seems to work. I'll check for the "plug wire light show" tonight to see if there is arcing etc.
