Default Removing pedal box '68 Coupe

Ok I'm stumped, I've got the steering column out and still can't figure out how to manuever the pedal box out from the dash? There doesn't seem to be enough room to get it from under the dash lip w/o hitting the firewall? Any tips on wrangling the pedal box out?

Trying to get my freshly refurbed PDB box/pedal in there once I get the old manual drum box/pedal out.
Thanks, Jon

It will come out, but you will have to remove everything from the bracket (Pedal box). The pedals have to be completely removed. That's how I did my 67 which is almost identical to your 68.

Thanks Greek, it is a '67 also. I have everything but the pedal off, I'll take that off to and see if it helps but the pedals not hitting anything as the MC rod is off. It just seems like theres only enough room to move it towards the dash 1/2" and back to the firewall 1/2", it almost seems like I'd have to get the metal dash out which I know isn't the case. I've got the two front mounting bolts out of the pedal box and can flop it around, I just can't figure out how to get enough space to get it from under the dash lip.

Hi Jon,

So I just did this exercise. I recall that I dropped the firewall end as mush as it would go. Then lift up the dash end. As it comes up, you can turn the box so you can bring it forward between the dash braces and drop the rear more. Then it will fall out the bottom of the dash. Don't remember if I took the pedal out ( only had brake at the time ) or not.

Good luck

Joel

Joel, did you take the dash cluster out? Someone else suggested I may be getting snagged by the back of the gauges and wiring...
About to remove the cluster and see if that does it.
