Default Hood Scoop for my 66?

i am gonna by a shelby style hood scoop for my 66 and was wondering is it alot to have put on because im taking it to the body shop to have it fixed of rust and repainted.

to have a hood scoop put on isn't hard you just have to know haw to measure.

It depends on whether you get a bolt on style or weld on. I would recommend welding even though it will cost a little bit for blending. If you are taking care of rust and getting a decent paint job already, the price of labor for the hood scoop will hardly be noticable.

if i were you, i wouldn't try measuring to see where it goes. after so much time, these babies get torqued and bent. i would simply eyeball it and mark it off. thats wat i did with mine and aside from the fact that its a bolt on and i didn't have the chance to blend it in when i painted my car it looks fine.

If it were me, I would buy a fiberglass GT350 hood for the car. Your car looks like it's in good shape. I would not cut a hole in your stock hood if it's the original hood.
The other thing is that when people attach just the scoop onto a steel hood it always eventually developes spider craps and ends up looking like crap, and if you get an expensive paint job, it's a waste. This is of course just my opinion.
