Default 1969 Mustang Coupe 302 Battery Drain

I'm new so this is my first attempt at posting. I have a 1969 Mustang Coupe with a 302. I recently swapped out the 2bbl for a 4bbl with electric choke. In the process I also installed a new alternator. In a hasty effort, I hooked the alternator up wrong and took the car for a drive to test out the new 4bbl. When I got back the battery was dead of course. So I realized my mistake and recharged the battery while I correctly connected the alternator. I started the car and shut it off after 15 minutes or so. When I tried to restart it, it cranked over like the battery was drained. So I thought I fried the alternator when I hooked it up wrong. I had it tested and it tested good. So I reinstalled it and swapped out the voltage regulator. I tested the battery and it read 12.6v. I started the car and tested the battery while it was running and it read 14.6v. So, I know the alternator is charging the battery. But, still after I shut off the engine and restart it, it still doesn't have enough juice. Could I have done something to the starter? Or Solenoid? Is there anything else I should check? I'm stumped, please help!

Did you hook your electric choke up to the alternator? if you hook it up to the wrong terminal it can drain your battery. If its not that, it could be tons of other things. A short, bad ground, etc.

Yes, the positive choke wire is hooked up to the Stator post on the alternator.

Sounds like it could be high resistance in the the positvie battery cable. this happened to me once. As you drive the car the flow of eletricity causes heat, and heat will cause resistance to go up in the wire. I replaced the wire and problem solved. Hope this helps...
