Question 302 or 351w advice

I'm debating on wether I should go with a 351w or 302. I'm thinkin about stroking either one. I want to push around 450 to 550 hp. I've heard a lot that pushing a 302 can split the block or it won't handle that well. This car will be a weekend driver only and taken to the track once in a while. Any advice would help. Thanks.

as reggie would say, no replacement for displacement. go with the 351 and stroke it to 408. your right foot will love you for it! 10-10.5 compression, good cam, afr 205s,victor jr. intake, holley 850= 475-500 h.p.

If you want that kind of power i would go with the 351. It would take a lot more work to get a 302 to the numbers you want than it would a 351.

You have a 67 so definitely a 408 Stroker would be the route I would go. Plenty of roon in the engine bay.

Scat Ford Stroker Kits 351W to 408 from RPM Machines.
