Any Suggestions? 1966 Mustang Constant Voltage Regulator Install

I just bought a new instrument bezel and lens for my '66 mustang. I know where all the wires go and where each bulb goes in. I had to disconnect the Constant Voltage Regulator, unscrewing it from the back of the gauge support. I forgot how the CVR connects. I know to screw it back in, but it also had this wire with a loop and hole where the screw went in and then the CVR is screwed on the bottom of that to the gauge support.
Is this correct?

Thanks.
(I actually lost the small screw, any screw should work right?)
(sorry I'm a newbee to cars and forum).

Hello That wire is the ground for your dash lights and it is attached by that screw. It should be instrument cluster/ voltage regulator/ ground wire/ screw head, or, in other words the loop of the ground wire should be between the voltage regulator and the screw head.

That's what I thought. Thanks for clearing that up for me? I can't seem to find the screw though, it fell some where inside the dash where the instrument panel goes. Any screw that works should be okay right? Do you happen to know the size of the screw? maybe?

Thanks.

When I made my solid state CVR for the instruments, I used a sheetmetal screw that fit in the hole. Dont use one that is very long.
Unless it is a 100 point original show car, I would not worry about it
