 70 Sportsroof electrical, won't stay running.
Hi Guys/Gals,
Newbie here. I pulled out my Mustang from storage. Needed battery, but started with a jump. Replaced battery and started fine, drove around and then shut it off and it wouldn't restart unless solenoid jumped. Replaced solenoid, now car starts and then dies as soon as key goes to on position from start. Car has mallory pointless dist, accell coil, ballast resistor. It still starts right up then shuts off. Also discovered when i flipped the "S" and "I" wires on solenoid car will start and run fine, just won't shut off unless i pull the wires back off the solenoid. I'm confused. Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks ! oh yeah, also checked hot side of coil with test light and it has power at start but shuts down immediately after start. Never had an issue before I replaced battery. |
