Default What suspension parts will swap from a 66 to a 68

I just purchased a good running 66 coupe with a 289 & power steering but it needs lots of body work & my 68 6 cyl car is really clean I was wondering if all the suspension components & power steering will swap over to my 68 if it will I think I am gonna just use the 66 for a doner car. Thanks in advance for any help.

Not really. The spindles will swap, but that will be a downgrade. There are substantial geometry changes from the '65-'66 to '67+ Mustangs to be able to fit the big block motors. The upper control arms were shortened to make way for the wider engine bay and smaller shock towers, and there are some hardware differences between the lower control arms that affect strut bar mounting.

It's all similar, but just different enough to screw you up. About the only thing you can swap is the motor and trans. You'd have to buy all new suspension parts that are specific for 68+ cars.

You can use the engine tranny and the seats and the spindles but that is about it.

do not reuse those 6 cylinder spindles, they are not made for a v8 car & can break on you
