Thumbs up (help) 1970 mustang front suspension Q

Hello people
my drive is a 1970 mustang convertible 302 deluxe.
i wish to know if i may do some changes in the front suspension (specially in the coil spring) since i changed rims and tires (from the original 195 75 14 to magnum 500 with goodrich´s 215 60 15) and it looks great but i feel them no so confortable when i´m driving because when it cames to take some street bump it feels like new tire is too hard and the front suspension could´nt take it very well. it´s like is going to fall apart.
thanks for answering.

Hola Argentina.
Just changing the tires the way you describe should not change the way the car feels as much as you say. something else must be different besides the tires. Can you provide any more detail? But to answer the question, yes you can certainly change the springs, but most other springs you could buy are designed to lower the ride, and will also make the car feel more stiff.

I've got the same wheel and tire combination, but my suspension is lowered and stiffened, but mine feels fine. I'm assuming that by saying "it feels like it's falling apart", the suspension feels harsh, with lots of rattles and such. What could be the case is that your suspension was worn from the start and about to fall apart, but the bias ply tires hid that effect with their softness. I'd recommend replacing all your bushings and isolators and ball joints. Roller spring perches will also help smooth the suspension out.
