Default Combustion chamber size

Hello all,

Can someone tell me what the stock combustion chamber size is on a 69 302 head? I have looked all over the head for a casting number but have been unable to find one. The only thing that I have found is a 302 with a 69 cast underneath it and what I believe to be only a partial casting number of C90. This is why I am assuming it to be a 69 casting. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

All i can find is 69 truck heads for a 302 casting number C9TE-C which were 69cc. '69 boss 302 heads cast number C9ZE had 61-64cc chambers and '69 351 heads cast number C9OE were 60cc

Thanks for the help 65bluehorse. I am sure that the casting is a C9O however, so I don't think the combustion chambers are quite 69cc.

If all else fails.
Block up the ports & plug hole.
Fill the chamber with liquid of your choice.
Measure the amount of liquid used.

65BlueHorse,

Thanks for the updated info. I, too, did some research on my heads. Like I previously stated the heads have 302 with a 69 cast into them. There is also a 302 cast into the top side of the head by the valves. Now here is where things get funny. I found the same info you did about the 69 351 heads with the C9OE. The thing that is funny is that upon looking better I found the exact same C9OE casting on my heads. I made sure to completely clean the casting number. I verified that the bottom loop on the nine didn't actually make a full circle creating an eight, it is definitely a nine. I can not find any reference to a 302 C9OE head at all, even though the heads clearly have 302 cast into them. Can anyone shed some light onto this?

1969 cars used a 302 head C9OE-E for a 2V 302 with 9.5:1 compression. Combustion chamber volume was 56.7-59.7cc. The similar truck heads, C9TE-C were marked with a T in the rocker arm area, were the same combustion shape and volume but were not used on cars.
