Default 68 mustang carb

hey guys i have a 68 mustang with a 302 in it. it has a 2-bbl carb but i want to put a 4-bbl on it. i don't know anything about carbs. im looking for some help choosing one. what one would you guys recommend?

Hi,

600cfm is probably where you need to be, i run an edelbrock 1405 but others prefer holly. Don't forget you will need a 4bbl inlet manifolld also.

I have a Holley 4160 i think. its also 600cfm. I don't think you want to go much higher than that. Holley has a carb selector on their website where you can put in info about your car and it will suggest carbs.

Yes you want to go with either a Holley 570CFM Street Avenger , but no bigger than a 600CFM Holley.

If you're intending to use the same intake manifold, built for the 2 barrel, you'll need an adapter. I found mine fairly easily through Summit.

? ..why do you think you need or want a 4bbl carb ?


you probably don't have 4 bbl heads.
