I have 235/60/15 on a 15x8 with 4 3/4 back spacing. Very seldom they will rub.

I would get an 8" wide rim with 4.5 backspacing and put either 235 or 245 wide tires on it.

Backspacing is from the center of the rim (were it bolts to the car) to the back edge of the wheel. If you lay a wheel with the outside down and lay something straight across the rim then measure from were the lugs go up to what you have laying across it that measurment is the backspacing. It determines how far the wheel sets back under the car. If you don't have enough the wheel/tire will stick out past the fender and rub. If you have to much backspacing the wheel/tire will rub on the inside.

I went with 245 on 8 inch wheels with a 5 inch backspace. They chirp a tiny bit when I hit the dips just right. You would not want to go any higher than 245 IMO
