Default New wheels and tires, now front right wheel grinds???

Hello, I sure hope someone can give me some help. I just put on a brand new set of wheels and tires. Tires are 205/70-14 BFG's. Wheels are 14x7 styled steel wheels. Now for some reason, the front right wheel is making a grinding sound while driving. I notice that when I lightly step on the brake while driving, the noise stops. Once I take my foot off of the brake, it starts again. It is not a constant noise, but a noise that occurs once the wheel reaches a certain point while it is turnining. So it kinda goes "da da da da da" instead of just daaaaaaaaaaa. LOL! Anyways, I suspect that it is probably brake related if it stops when I step on the brakes. Does anyone here know exactly what this could be and what I can do to correct it? Thanks for all the help!

take the wheel off and see if the wheel is grinding or rubbing the caliper. And if so, grind it a little bit until it clears.

are all of your joints and bearings freshly greased? the pivot of the car when you hit the brakes could be messin with the noise somehow

The wheel bearings on that side may not be tightened down enough. This could be allowing the drum (Drum brakes, right?) to slightly tilt when turning. The tilting is making the edge of the shoes contact either the vertical portion of the drum or the drum is making contact with the backing plate. When the brakes are applied the pressure from the shoe's contact with the drum is making the drum straighten out and the noise stops. This is only a guess, but it's somewhere to start.

Why it started after installing new wheels and tires is probably a coincidence. Jack the car up on that side and rock the wheel back and forth with your hands placed at a 12 and 6 o'clock position. You should have very little movement. If excessive movement is found, either the cotter pin wasn't installed on the spindle, making the nut back off, the bearings are bad or the nut wasn't tightened to spec. Like I said, this is only a guess.

Hello. If you have the Grananda front disc brakes, a styled steel wheel will hit the caliper and make the sounds that you seem to be describing. If you do indeed have the Granada front discs, you'll need a thin spacer to push the wheel out a little bit.
