Default Ignition Timing on '68 302

I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to what base timing i should run on my 302. it's a mildly built motor, with no power adders like N02 or a charger. The motor has not been installed or started yet, but plan on getting it running within the next couple of weeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I just finished my 289. It's rebuilt with .40 over flat top pistons and a mild cam also running a 600 cfm carb with dual plane intake, tri-y headers. I set the timing @ 12 deg. Not a tire-frier but runs nice with that setting. If the engine your building is green you'll want the timing light handy when you fire it. Set timing closer to factory spec untill you have it broke-in then, when you drive it you can tweek it.
