Question 351c headers 4sp what type?

I am going to pull the eng out soon for a rebuild and would like to install headers when putting it back in.

All i can find are for automatics, need them for 4 speed.

will be going in 70 Mach1 with 351CJ 4V 4speed. PS, A/C PDB.

would like to have ceramic or nickel coated for longer life,
But cannot seem to find a set that will fit.

would like to drop them in and bolt them on.
is anybody running a simular set-up?

thanks DC

You're reading the Hooker data wrongly. It doesn't say "automatics only" it says it fits automatics. Toploader fit is easier since it isn't as wide where the collectors fit. If it fits automatics, and doesn't indicate automatic only, then you're okay. I checked and 6920 Hookers should fit (6913 if you have 2v heads). Check with your local speed shop and get them to agree on "money back" if you're not satisfied. This is easier and only a bit more expensive then ordering by mail and then having the hassle of a return if they don't fit.

When I had my 70 Mach I i had hedman headers on it and I had a 4 speed. Check out hedmans site for what you need.

I have had bad expierence with hooker headers and found the fit and finish undesirable. The left side hangs low and more then likely because the engine had to have a slight tilt to keep the one tube from the header from rattling against the frame rail. Maybe just the set I got. I found a site that the Boss 302 guys highly recommend and I plan to purchase a set from .

Have contacted local shop and data is not completely true. the auto listings will not always work with stick, the bellcrank needs to go to the eng block and some app cross thru where it attaches to block. their 6920's will work so they say. will research more. thanks.

I used Hooker 6901-1's on my FR302 and have clutch linkage in early configuration. Two tubes pass over the clutch z-bar and two tubes pass under it. The only conflict I had was with the z-bar pivot adapter which is not a factory item. A little grinding and it fit too. I'm not guaranteeing 6920's fit but I would try them. I suggested you use a local shop and ask for a money back guarantee if they don't fit. If they don't fit, don't bang em, just return them for your money and look elsewhere. It took me two sets to find ones that fit. JBA's didn't.

Nothing wrong with Derrick's suggestion to use FPA. They make nice headers too. Hookers are likely cheaper than FPA's 'cause FPA's are just this side of custom made.
