Default 1965 insturment panel wiring

I just got her back from some other hands and now my temp gauge doesn't work. I took the insturment panel out and behind the temp gauge only on of the post had a wire running to it, so I looked around and found another wire, plugged it up and that made the guage max out. So, where do I start/ what do I look for? And if anyone has any diagrams that'd be great!

Provided that was the correct wire, that tells me your temp sensor in the intake manifold may well be shorted. If so, new ones are under $10.

Hi again. That would be my first thought, also. But, he should check to make sure that has the right wires attached to the right places. This could just be telling him that he has a full tank of gas.

I have all of the wires in place, and all of my gauges now 'work' [the fuel gauge never had a problem] Now my temp gauge just maxes out. I think i could have the two wires to the gauge backward, or maybe my gauge is wrong? I looked in to changing the temp sender, but before the rebuild it was working fine, and there has only been 3 or so miles put on it since being put back together.

Thanks for the help
