I just went through this. The problem you have is that there is a metal sleeve the bolt goes through in the bushing and the bolt is probably rusted solid to the metal in the bushing. Really, no amount of pounding or twisting or PB Blaster is going to work. The only way to get this out is to either heat it up with a torch, or, what most people do, cut it out with a sawzall. I just went through this last weekend and had to cut it out.
A word of warning. Cutting it out with a sawzall is a tedious and time consuming process, but entirely possible if you keep at it. And dont even bother using a bi-metal blade, the metal bushing sleeve will eat right through them and they dont even make a dent in that metal. The bushing sleeve is like tempered steel. What was recommended to me was a tungsten carbide blade, and I also used a diamond grit blade. They didnt cut through like butter, but it got through. |
