I remember on my 66 (in high school) that the front end would have this annoying squeaking from the shocks...well my 68 is doing it now. so next weekend I'm going to get front shocks (rears are air adj.) and try to grease the front end, but this seems to come from the shock tower the rest the front end is newer and seems tight (manual steer box) any ideas how to get rid of this annoying nose? thanks

Eh-hem, it's Mustang with a capital M!

Install grease fittings on the upper control arms, if they are not already there. You'll need 90 degree elbow fittings. I can't remember what size they were.

My '67 just had plugs instead of grease fittings when I bought it back in '93. It had the Mustang squeek too, and it went away after putting in the fittings and greasing it.

I have fond memories of my 66's upper control arms. Unfortunately on my 68 somebody cut holes in the shock tower to grease the control arms

That seems to have happened more than not. My 68 suffers that affliction as well.

thx for the tip, that was the problem, and yes...I now hate Greece fittings lol. on a side note I panted the drums red with caliper paint and setting behind the craggier SS's I'm told it looks pretty sharp, I had to do all 4 wheels tho.
