i have a problem that i dont know were its coming from. so when i accelerate i hear a squeaking noise i have a 289 in my 68, does anyone know what this is

Hello wabarca2,
First thing I would check is the fan belt. It could be loose. To check, look at the distance between the top of the alternator and the lower pulley. the deflection (amount is pushes in) should be about 1/2 inch no more. This would cause the screech on acceleration........Print Dad

Must need a tuneup, you should hear a howling noise associated with blue smoke coming from the rear tyres.
