Default HELP! 1966 Mustang cowl to hood seal

I'm trying to install the cowl to hood seal on my 66. I thought it should just clip in but we broke two of the clips already. Anyone have suggestions, we tried pushing, tapping, we got one in but the clip bent and wouldn't hold. Thx. Mick

the clips that come already installed in the rubber should be easy to just push in with both your thumbs, could be you have a lot of paint build up in the holes. Make sure the seal you have is for a 65-66 not like a 67-68. It should just clip in easy with all the clips then on the ends are L shaped metal brackets held in with 2 screws on each side.
