Default 1965 Mustang-Maybe switching 8" to a 9" Rear

The 8" rearend in my 65 Mustang is going (has been since I bought the car) and this summer I want to replace the guts. But I was thinking of just switching to a 9" while I'm at it since I have to rebuild the 8" anyways. Basically going out and finding a secondhand 9" rearend and rebuilding it. What vehicles can I find a rearend in that will fit my Mustang?

I'm not looking for an 8.8!!! If all else fails maybe, but at the moment I will 100% not be considering an 8.8!!

Thanks in advance for any help.

There is a used Cougar place in Washington. I got my 9" from him. It bolted right up with no modification. Then I got the center section from May Racing. I don't remember his site, but you can google "used cougar parts" and it comes up. He was a great guy, and easy to deal with.

Go to this website. It says a the 1977 - 80 Lincoln versaiiles came with 9" rear end with disk brakes. this was all based on the Granada which was based on the maverick. Spacing and bolt up should work.
