Default 1969 351w will not start

I have a 1969 with 351w, 2 barrel carb with an automatic. It cranks and fires but will not run, when I let go of the key it just dies. Any ideas on where to start , will be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the coil is getting voltage in the start position and not in the run position. Check your ignitin ckt and ignition switch.

Thanks, anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for the ignition circuit? Links, posts etc. I really hate electrical problems.

Everything is stock right now. A friend suggested the starter solenoid. Could that be the problem?

could be had that problem a month or so ago have someone beat the solenoid with a hammer as you try and turn it over should turn over. but will have to repeat over and over if you dont replace it. they arent that much maybe $15 at most

Solenoid has nothing to do with it. If the car is starting, the solenoid is good. Did you check your ignition ckt as I suggested?

Have not had a chance to check circuit or switch. Hopefully this weekend I can get to it. Anyone have the ignition circuit diagrams?
