Default 1966 Mustang faria tach question

I have a 66 GT350 that the previous owner upgraded the ignition to MSD (MSD 6A) MSD distributor and MSD box under the dash.

How is it possible to get my OEM Faria tach up and running?

The tach has been bench tested and restored so I know it works as it did in 66.

Thanks for your help!

SM

Hello.
The best way would be to yank all of that MSD stuff out of there, get an Autolite dual point distributor like the one it came with, and wire up the tach as it was originally, but, that probably isn't what you want to hear. The original tachs were wired up inline on the resistor wire coming off of the ignition switch. I'm pretty sure that MSD makes a tach adaptor so that you can still run the original tachs.

Thanks a million! This little monster has been doing high 11s / low 12s and the previous owner needed an "accurate" tach and updated ignition stuff...

I like the proper look of the interior the way she came from LA.

I will contact MSD to see about the tach adapter.
